My Tiny Dancer.....

So finally got Ayla transferred over to her new studio. I have been so excited to do this! Growing up- I took dance from the owner and became part of the traveling dance company and now the girls I danced with are the teachers. My teacher and now her and her girls run the studio together.

We walked in yesterday and it was my old teacher sitting at the desk. It was pretty overwhelming and I was giddy! I signed Ayla up right away and paid for the year in advance I was so excited!
Then off to the mall to buy her some Tap and ballet shoes and a crazy cute dance outfit (that is not at all what they are supposed to wear for class, but I could not help it! )

Ayla tore off through the studio and stood in front of the mirrors and kept saying "Everybody, look at this!" and she would do a little jump or somersault.

Yeah- she is ready for this- no shyness there! :)

Ayla's First Real Dance Class @ Dance Connection Too!!

Loaded with Pictures taken through a glass Mirror, Very blurry and shadowy, but they are the only pictures I have of Ayla's 1st Real Dance Class- so here we go! :)
I have been waiting for this day for what seemed like forever!! Since the day we found out I was having a girl- I knew I wanted her to take dance classes. More specifically- I wanted her to go to my old studio where I danced all through elementary and high school! It was about 10 miles from our house.
I was THRILLED when I found out that they were moving the studio to a new location- less than TWO MILES from my house!!

right before class started.. she was so excited!
Tap Time at the bar! This was the first 10 minutes where Ayla just stood there are started at everyone. ...
Then all of a sudden- she got into it! This was Ms. Lisa and Ayla going across the floor doing marches, and they were told the swing their arms. Ayla was swinging so hard she almost fell over! :)
Learning a little routine! This was the part I started teearing up- it was so precious! And she was having so much fun!
Changing into Ballet Shoes....
"Shake It!" She went wild, swinging her hips and laughing!
Stretching
She walked out of class and ran to me and yelled "Mommy- I am so HAPPY!"
I felt the same way....

So for a treat, I took her to the mall and we bought her first Ballet and Tap shoes, a ton of leotards and tights, hair bows, and a new dance bag! We had frozen yogurt and played in the play land- then came home and passed out watching a movie. Perfect day!!

Cant wait until next Tuesday!!! :)

Brody's field Trip

Field Trip!!

Even though it was 112 degrees Thursday, we went to a splash pad in Chandler for Brody's preschool field trip!

It was at a park, and of course- all Ayla wanted to do was play on the swings- the only activity that was not in the water , or under cover.

I soaked myself to avoid heatstroke and we actually had fun!
My crazy chick!
Brody and his "Best Friend" JP
Eating Watermelon and being goofy!

I am what Andre calls "Environmentally Challenged" which is a nice way to say I am prissy! I am a natural redhead, I burn the second I am in the sun and get all freckly and I cant stand being that hot and pouring sweat and feeling dirty. So I hung in there and had fun, but after about 1.5 hours, we jumped in the air conditioned car to go get ice cream and cool off!
The kids did not even seem to notice that you could fry an egg on the ground they were sitting on! :)

Another one of Ayla's favorite things to do- read and be read to. She will go off on her own for 45 min to look at books. I love that! Sometimes- we can even hear her "reading" to herself. She makes up stories! Adorable!
Doesnt she look like 4 years old with her hair straightened?
This is her "go to" pose when you tell her to pose for pictures.

Easter 2010

Easter this year was a million activity event! We had Easter Egg hunts with Friends, Egg Hunts at the Preschool, Meeting the Easter Bunny, Dying Eggs, Egg Hunting at our house and then over at Mimi and Papas.
I can say that Brody and Ayla are very competitive! With each other and themselves. It was a mad dash at every  hunt!

She was SOO Mad  Brody found that last egg! She took off down the hill trying to catch him!

Check out the concentration- She juts her bottom lip out!! haha!

Easter Egg Hunt at our house

My Ayla...

Ayla is growing so fast. At almost 2.5- She is like a little teen already! She has the sassiest personality and so many little cute quirks! Right now - she gives everything and everyone "Nicknames". Me= Ma, Shawn= Shawny, Chad= Putzy, Mimi= Mim, Papa= Pop. She even shortens sentences. Instead of saying "I Love You" back to us when we tell her- she will say "So So Much" .  Sometimes she will just come up to me- give me a huge hug and tell me "So So Much Mommy" Sigh.....

Along with her sweet sayings- she also has developed a way to get out of trouble. She has a very big Destructive side. She rips books, Will break anything you give her- TRIES to find ways to take things apart, etc. BUT- if you yell at her to stop- she immediately switches gears and will take whatever object she is Destroying and hug it and say "But I LOVE it!" and get all sugary sweet and start kissing it. This happens daily outside in our flowers- she will stomp on them- and the second she sees us coming at her- she gets on the ground to "Hug" her flowers and kiss them and tell me how much she loves them. We try not to laugh- but it is pretty funny.

These are jsut some cute pics of our Lala over the last 2 months...

Ayla's 2nd Birthday (Actual Birthday) Jan 6

For Ayla's actual birthday- we started out with our tradition of Daddy's pancakes and blowing out candles. Ayla is soo cute doing this- she blows with her bottom lip, so she looks like a bull dog while she is blowing- its hilarious!!

After breakfast- we went to a playdate with all of her friends at Christines. She had so much fun outside on the swingset. She did not want to get off! She was squealing for over an hour. (Guess we really need to get a swingset!!)

Having so much fun on the swings!! She is so beautiful!

Blowing out candles on her Dinner Meatloaf too!! hahha!

Check out the bottom lip! :)

She is just getting prettier every day!!
